Chennai-Based NGO Reunites Mentally Ill Man with His Family After 15 Months
It was a moment of joy and tears in the Sheikh family of Karampudi village in Palnadu district when the 43-year-old mentally ill patient, Sheikh Vali, who went missing 15 months ago, was reunited with his family on Friday. The reunion marked an end to the distressing period for the family which lost all hopes of finding Vali.
Vali was found roaming in Ayapakkam of Tamil Nadu, distraught and half-naked, his clothes torn, his face full of dirt. He did not remember his name nor where he hails from. Luckily, Jacob and his team from the non-profit organization Udavum Karangal, meaning Helping Hands in Tamil Nadu, managed to find Vali after a phone call from a good Samaritan in Ayapakkam.
They took Vali to their Dignity Home for mentally ill male patients at Thiruverkadu, Chennai. There, he was provided with warm meals, clean clothes, and the necessary medical attention and psychological support. At Udavum Karangal, the volunteers provided him with occupational therapy, individual and group counseling, and nutritious food, keeping him under the constant care of psychologists and social workers.Udavum Karangal sheltered Vali for 15 months and made several attempts to trace his family. Very emotional scenes erupted during the reunion, as Vali finally reached home. His family was very thankful to Udavum Karangal for their relentless pursuit and help.
This touching story shows how critical NGOs like Udavum Karangal are in supporting society, more so in taking care of the vulnerable. The successful reunion that took place was a shining example of compassion, dedication, and the difference community support can make in someone's life.

Prepare for Deadpool and Wolverine - Must watch movies
With the once elusive and much-anticipated film "Deadpool 3" and brought back to life with the man himself, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, fans are rushing to catch up on all the essential viewing to fully appreciate this future Marvel extravaganza. First, viewers must be refreshed regarding the "X-Men" movie series, most particularly the major films in the series, which are "X-Men" (2000), "X2: X-Men United" (2003), "X-Men: The Last Stand" (2006), and "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014); all these had set the characterizations of Jackman as Wolverine and molded his origins, powers, and principal relationships. The solo standalones of Wolverine such as "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" provide greater insight into the course of his personal life, while "Logan" constitutes an emotional and integral part of his storyline. The "Deadpool" movies, namely "Deadpool" in 2016 and "Deadpool 2" in 2018, are, in fact, prerequisite viewing in order to understand Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool, which breaks all molds of the new irreverent tone set across the Marvel universe. These were the movies that characterized Deadpool's personality, sense of humor, and meta-commentary style, which is important in trying to understand how he and Wolverine play off of each other. Although not set either for Deadpool or Wolverine, "Avengers: Endgame" does give some background about the MCU base, hence setting up potential crossovers and new character dynamics. Viewing all the movies helps viewers comprehend the full history of the superheroes, including their powers and how they have developed across time, which keeps them well-geared to understand the action, humor, and character development in "Deadpool 3."
