Big Breaking
Karma at its finest! Karnataka has taken drastic steps to the mall that denied entry to a man in dhoti
That incident at GT Mall in Bengaluru is a very strong testament to the strength and oneness of our farming community. Tuesday evening, the security guards of the mall at the entrance did not allow an elderly farmer into the mall who was proudly wearing his traditional attire - a dhoti. Fakirappa, a 62-year-old farmer from Haveri district and his family had tickets for a Kannada movie but were stopped at the entrance despite having valid tickets. The guards insisted the farmer change what he was wearing in order to be permitted in, citing management instructions, which meant unnecessary humiliation and embarrassment.
This incident, which everybody witnessed and that was video-taped, suddenly went viral on social media. Netizens' reactions were prompt and strong, condemnable and disrespectful on the part of the mall. The farmer unions did not waste any time in rallying and organized protests outside the mall the very next morning. The demands were clear of an apology and appropriate action against the management. An FIR has been booked against the mall owner and the security guard concerned is a major step toward justice.
On Thursday, Prashanth, owner of GT World Mall, told The Indian Express: “I am taking the total responsibility for the mistake that has happened from our end. The BBMP has sought explanation… We are closing down the mall from today (Thursday) even before getting a sealing notice. We have already spoken to all the shops and multiplexes in the mall. We will open after the issue gets cleared.”
It's such instances that highlight the real and positive side of social media, its a way to show the world just how strong our spirit really is! When we stand united, we ensure that everyone, no matter what they’re wearing or where they come from, gets the respect and dignity they deserve. This is more than just a call to action—it’s proof of our incredible resilience and our fierce commitment to justice and equality. So let’s rise up, face any challenge head-on, and come out even stronger on the other side!

Shiva, a 22-year-old Swiggy delivery driver, makes anywhere between ₹40,000 to ₹50,000 a month. Despite being so young, Shiva has worked as a delivery agent for the last three years. His income includes a base pay of ₹20 per order from Swiggy, along with tips and incentives.
"I get around ₹5,000 a month from tips,I want to open a D-Mart. It will create employment opportunities for the people of my village," he shared with Kamath in Hindi. In the past six months, he has been able to save ₹2 lakh, which he plans to invest in starting a business in his village.
