Bopanna and Ebden progress to the second round of men's doubles.
The pair of Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden from Australia secured a passage into the next round after they defeated the Dutch pair of Sander Arends and Robin Haase in two straight sets. The match lasted for more minutes which took place at the USTA Billie Jean National Tennis center.

The second who were runners-up last year had some problems in the second set but their experience pulled them together as they won four games consecutively to level the score at five all. They then broke their opponents serve to lead before winning eventually. Next up are Bopanna/Ebden against Roberto Carballes Baena/Federico Coria, a Spanish/Argentine pairing. And also, Bopanna will partner with Indonesian Aldila Sutjiadi in mixed doubles.
Indian Olympians Honored by NRAI
Grand celebration in Delhi to honor the achievements of Indian shooting stars Manu Bhaker, Swapnil Kusale and Sarabjot Singh who had excelled at Paris Olympics was hosted by National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).
Manu Bhaker was given ₹45 lakh, making him the first Indian to win two medals at a single Olympic game. For him is the value of 30 lakh for Swapnil Kusale based on his historic bronze medal he earned from men’s rifle 3 positions event that marked an important milestone in Indian shooting. Sarabjot Singh also bagged ₹15 lakh for bronze medal he won together with Bhaker in 10m air pistol mixed team event. Notably present were other influential sports personalities like NRAI chief Kalikesh Singh Deo as well as Olympic medallists Vijay Kumar and Gagan Narang who lauded the athletes for their commendable efforts and successes.

Google DeepMind’s Morni AI will support 125 Indic languages
Google DeepMind Morni AI initiative aimed at 125 Indic languages is a move to enhance digital accessibility in these languages. According to Manish Gupta, director at Google DeepMind, the project is targeting more than 100 languages. For instance, although Hindi is widely used, it accounts for only about 0.1 percentage of online text.
Women's Asian Champions Trophy 2024 Poised for Rajgir
The Women’s Asia Champions Trophy 2024 has been confirmed to take place in Rajgir, Bihar between March 27 – April 5 by Hockey India. Amongst its 6 participating teams are India, Japan, South Korea, China, Malaysia and Thailand.Rajgir International Hockey Stadium with a capacity of 5,000 will be the venue that can boast of modern facilities. With this tournament Hockey India wants to support the growth of the sport within its surroundings as well as give it more exposure
In 2021, when it last took place in Donghae (South Korea), the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy ended with India finishing at silver medal position after falling short against their hosts in finals although many consider themselves lucky to have reached such a podium slot compared to others like say Malaysia among them who hadn’t been there since long before. The event should act as a platform for other sides participating as they prepare for larger tournaments abroad later on.
The Intelligence Features of iPhone to be Rolled Out in Phases by Apple
Apple is going to start releasing many artificial intelligence capabilities in batches on its upcoming iPhone 16 series; these capabilities won’t be all released at once. The new iPhones for September will launch under iOS 18 but without any AI capabilities. However, basic features like text writing assistance and summarization tools are expected to debut with newc iOS in October.
The update will include various AI functions like an image editing application that removes unnecessary objects, smart responses available in messaging applications, notification summaries among others. It is expected that more advanced features such as Genmoji for creating personalized emojis and an application for generating images will be available by December. Full incorporation of AI abilities that come with a redesigned Siri and system-wide ChatGPT functions are expected by early 2025.
Retired Athletes Supported by Ministry of Sports through RESET Program
RESET (Reintegration of Retired Sportspersons through Empowerment and Training) program has been introduced by The Indian Sports Ministry for empowering retired athletes. This program aims at providing comprehensive training and skill development in order to help former sportspersons find new careers after their active sports years.
In promoting a favorable atmosphere, the Sports Ministry hopes to improve the livelihoods of retired athletes while motivating them towards meaningful contributions to society. This step is a clear demonstration of the government’s dedication to providing support for athletes in all stages of their careers.
