💬 Navigating Perspectives
In a world where many see retirement as the finish line, Dr. Karri Ramareddy stands as a shining example that learning truly knows no age limit. At 72, this veteran psychiatrist from Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh, continues to break boundaries—not just in his medical profession, but as a relentless academic achiever with an astonishing 61 degrees to his name.
A Lifelong Love Affair with Learning
Dr. Ramareddy’s journey began in the small town of Anaparthi, where his parents instilled in him a love for reading and curiosity. He completed his early education at the Government Zilla Parishad High School, followed by his PUC at PR College, Kakinada, and went on to earn his MBBS from Rangaraya Medical College in 1970. His thirst for knowledge led him to NIMHANS, Bengaluru, where he specialized in psychiatry.
Age Is Just a Number for Relentless Scholar
But for Dr. Ramareddy, education was never just about professional advancement. He dove into diverse fields, earning three PhDs—in Law, Yoga, and Education—and five LLMs. His academic conquests include 11 certifications through the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL), offered by premier institutions like IIT Mumbai and IIT Kharagpur. Remarkably, he topped eight of these courses, earning Elite Plus Silver or Gold grades among thousands of learners nationwide.
Recognition and Philosophy
Dr. Ramareddy’s achievements have not gone unnoticed. He is a recipient of the prestigious Rashtrapati Award and the Dr. BC Roy Award, testaments to his dedication and excellence. Yet, he remains humble, viewing titles as milestones rather than destinations. “True success lies in staying relevant and hungry for knowledge,” he says. “As long as you are curious, every day becomes a new opportunity.”
The Secret to His Success
What keeps Dr. Ramareddy going? A daily routine of five hours dedicated to study, a commitment to fitness, and an unyielding curiosity. He believes that learning is a continuous process, unbound by age, time, or circumstance. “If you love learning, life itself becomes your classroom,” he shares, vowing to keep studying as long as he lives.
A Message for All
Dr. Ramareddy’s story is a testament to the power of curiosity and perseverance. His advice to young and old alike: “Study wherever you wish, but remember—to serve your own country is a privilege, not a sacrifice.” For him, the journey of learning is endless, and every day is a new lesson waiting to be discovered.
